Why isn’t my spa showing up on Google?
By the Sanctuary Growth Co team · Last updated August 21, 2026
If your spa isn’t showing up on Google, it’s usually one of seven things: an unverified or incomplete profile, too few reviews, wrong categories, an address mismatch, no local pages, a new or thin website, or simply being outside the searcher’s area. Most are quick to fix.
1. Your Google Business Profile isn’t verified or complete
If your profile isn’t verified — or is missing categories, hours, services, and photos — Google won’t rank it. This is the first thing to check and fix.
2. You don’t have enough reviews yet
New studios almost always start invisible because review count is a major ranking signal. Getting to 20–30 quality reviews changes everything.
3. Your categories are wrong
Your primary category should match your core service exactly (e.g. “Facial spa”), with accurate secondary categories. The wrong ones pull you into the wrong searches.
4. Your name, address, or phone don’t match across the web
Inconsistent listings on Yelp, Apple Maps, and directories quietly suppress your ranking. They must be identical everywhere.
5. You have no local pages on your site
Google favors sites with pages built around your services and area, marked up with local schema. No local pages, less local relevance.
6. Your website is new or thin
A brand-new or nearly empty site hasn’t earned trust yet. Consistent, helpful content (like this post) builds it over time.
7. You’re simply outside the searcher’s radius
Distance matters. You’ll rank strongest near your location and fade farther out — which is normal, and why a geo-grid scan shows the real picture.
I can see my spa when I search — why can’t customers?
Google personalizes results to your location and history. Seeing yourself doesn’t mean a customer across town does. Use a geo-grid scan for the truth.
How fast can this be fixed?
Verification and category fixes help within days. Reviews and content build over 30–60 days.
What should I fix first?
Verify and complete your profile, then start getting reviews. Those two solve most cases.
